Total Control URC Home Automation Installation & Wi-Fi Installation in Ealing
This project took us to the district of Ealing in West London. The residents of this nine-room property found that while it technically “worked”, much of their experience of the house was cumbersome, leaving a lot to be desired.
As well as in-home Internet connectivity that faltered at times, the existing security setup had elements of vulnerability, as revealed by the security risk assessment our professionals conducted at the property.
What this house needed was a complete smart home solution, connecting various aspects of the property to a single control system. Such a solution – if we were able to get it right – promised to take a lot of the friction out of the residents’ lifestyle, giving them a much smoother and more seamless experience across vital functions.
The strategy
To serve this household’s needs, we decided to put in place the essentials of a sophisticated URC home automation system, through which the property’s AV, lighting, sound, lighting, and CCTV could all be controlled.
Taking the central role in this smart home infrastructure was a URC control system, with connections to all the house’s rooms. Ultimately, it gave the residents of the property a tightly integrated entertainment system, as well as an effective means of securing their house against would-be intruders, even when they weren’t physically at home.
Our measures to bolster security at the property included the fitting of a 4K Hikvision CCTV system. This was configured with a smart notification system, and channelled through a single HDMI AV source. As a result, the residents were given the ability to easily keep an eye on their home through its TV system, or from a distance via a tablet computer or smartphone.
The Internet problems, meanwhile, were tackled with the installation of eight Wi-Fi access points, and the addition of fail-safe connectivity options.
Results
From a home with somewhat convoluted functionality, to one that was much simpler to use, this property in Ealing underwent considerable transformation with our help.
A key element of this project was our establishment of a 4K distribution matrix. This meant the end user could immerse themselves in 4K content from Sky, Netflix, Apple TV, and PlayStation, on any TV in the building.
With regard to the cinema room, a projector was fitted in the ceiling. Furthermore, we incorporated an electrical screen that was flush with the wall, which conveyed a sleek aesthetic.
The property’s home entertainment system even extended into the garden, where an externally graded, 65-inch TV was installed. The speaker system at the house now featured wireless Sonos options, integrated with the property’s existing wireless speakers.
The client declared themselves “delighted with the result” and the “all-round professional service” we provided. They commented that it was now easy for them to “stream TV shows, films and games around the house. The cinema room is a big favourite with visitors!”
